Hi there!
Every month I learn something new from the people using Waterly in the field, and this month is no different. We have a reporting upgrade that will genuinely save you time, a quick cyber reminder worth sharing with your whole team, and a practical tip from operators who are catching problems before they become emergencies. Glad you are here.
In this Edition (emojis in honor of Memorial Day)
Cool New Stuff
The New Rounds Reports Dashboard
If you manage 2 or more systems, we know accessing the reports across those systems could be easier. The multiple clicks to find the right report in the right system isn’t ideal. We have been working hard to make this easier! The new Reports dashboard fixes this by pulling all of your reports into one place, so you can access them across all your systems in one convenient dashboard.
We’ve been previewing this new function with some of our largest multi-system teams and the response has been consistent: “Yes! This will make my job much easier.”
How to get in: Look for the “Preview Now” button on the reporting page. It switches your browser into the new layout, just yours, not your whole organization. If a teammate’s screen looks different, that’s likely why.
There’s more going on in the reporting screen because you have more control. You now have the ability to filter by system, site, report name. And once you land on a view you like, bookmark the URL to hold your settings so you’re not rebuilding it each time. From this dashboard you can also edit and create reports from one location.

Cybersecurity
A 10-second Rule
We’ve been seeing more phishing attempts lately, email, text, and even phone calls. As AI becomes more advanced, bad actors become harder to detect. Most incidents start with one click on a cleverly disguised email, so the goal is simple: slow down for ten seconds before you act.
A quick security check before clicking anything:
Does the sender address or any links look slightly off?
Does the URL look suspicious when you hover over it?
Is the message pushing urgency like “act now” or “account locked”?
Is there an unexpected attachment?
Is there bad grammar found throughout the email?
If something feels off, don’t click it! Report it internally. You can also paste a suspicious link into an online checker like Google Safe Browsing to check its reputation.
Operator Corner
Catch it before it breaks
kWh tracking could catch:
Impeller wear (gradual)
Bearing degradation
Voltage/power supply issues
Motor winding degradation
Partial clog (reduced but not zero flow)
Adding this one input could reduce those 2AM alarm runs. Waterly Rounds already has the infrastructure built to handle these calculations! . Bring it to Office Hours if you’d like to explore this kind of efficiency for your system too.
Next time you're checking a lift station or booster station, take 30 seconds to read the electric meter too. Pairing kWh with your runtime and flow data lets you calculate specific energy (kWh per million gallons pumped) one of the most reliable indicators of pump health. If that number starts climbing without a change in flow or runtime, it can point to motor or bearing issues before they trigger an alarm. And at sites without flow meters, kWh tracking may be your best early warning tool.
Hang out with Waterly & LEARN - Monthly
Monday, June 8 @ 1PM CDT
Now included in your Waterly subscription - A monthly, one-hour open learning session for anyone using Waterly apps, new users, long-time users, and everyone in between – you just must be an active user though. We will work through real Waterly questions together in a practical, low-pressure way.
This month we’re using most of the hour for a proper orientation on the new Reports dashboard. A guided walk-through together. We’ll cover what moved where, how filters and search work, and how multi-system teams are setting it up to save real time. Of course, bring along your questions and insights for discussion.
No agenda, just real folks.
As the new Reports dashboard rolls out, we want to understand how you use the reports in Waterly Rounds. For instance, do you submit your monthly regulatory reports to the state using Waterly? We’d love to hear your story.

Question for the Waterly Crew
Over the last few weeks we spent time with operators and supervisors at multiple conferences. At the Texas Association of Physical Plant Administrators (TAPPA) in Dallas we connected with more people who are using the Waterly platform for boilers, chillers and industrial water treatment. Illinois Section-AWWA's WaterCon in Illinois was a great time to connect with long-time friends and even sponsor a mini-golf outing. California RWA Expo consistently proves to impress especially since we are an approved Preferred-Provider for their members. A few other conferences you may have seen us at were the Wisconsin RWA in Green Bay, WI and Montana RWA in Butte, MT. So many conversations with folks looking for solutions, with real questions, and honest feedback. We’re grateful for it.
The comment that stuck with us from a Wisconsin team was: “Get us off paper without making it complicated.” Not a new idea, but a good reminder of the goals we shoot for. One of the best moments was when we were talking with a new community and a current Waterly user came up and said, “You just need to use it. You won't be disappointed.”
If you’re at one of these events next time, please say hi!
Our Upcoming Events:
